This course is designed to teach students the basics of Virtual Production so they can continue their own learning independently or return to take a longer form course and build expertise. The ideal participant is an industry professional who is new to ICVFX. The aim is to give all members enough knowledge of these workflows so they feel confident utilising them for a production and feeling like they can ask intelligent questions in future productions.
Module 1:
Introduction. The Basics - What is VP and How Does it Work, What are the Benefits of VP? Starting with a demo and tour and showing examples of what has been shot at Garden. Progressing through key technologies and concepts involved.
Module 2:
The key ingredients. This will include an insight into Unreal, ICVFX, The Virtual Art Department, Basic Workflow and The Camera. Including tracking.
Module 3:
Finally we’ll put everything together that we’ve learned, shooting a short piece where operation of camera, lights and Unreal are deferred to the participants with Garden Studios supervision.
