Role: Facilities Assistant

Hours: 9am-6pm (40 hours/week)

Salary: £22,000

Start Date: February 2022

Line Manager: Cosmin Lini (Maintenance Supervisor)

Role overview:

  • Ensuring the studio premises and surrounding areas are always well functioning, safe, tidy and welcoming.
  • Working as part of the facilities team to help manage health and safety measures and ensure that all sites are compliant with health and safety legislation.
  • Flexible working (within reason) is required for some production schedules, so the role may involve some "out of hours” working.
  • Supporting client needs and requests with precision, promptness, and positivity. This role is client-facing and you’ll be playing a critical role in ensuring clients have the best possible experience at Garden Studios.
  • Assisting with set up and tear down of events and studio bookings
  • There will be opportunities to learn and develop trade skills, which can lead to career progression into roles with specialist skills as the organisation grows.

Specific responsibilities:

  • Preparing and supporting studio spaces for clients and productions: including fixing/organising/moving furniture, equipment and waste as necessary.
  • Working as an individual or as a team to help solve problems for clients, which can be wide ranging and, at times, immediate.
  • Assisting clients and colleagues in a helpful and thoughtful way when you can see they may need help. This includes being able to recognise how you can help without being asked.
  • Reporting any defects to the Maintenance Supervisor and logging them on helpdesk.
  • Keeping other informed of information that contributes to the performance of the team, department or company.
  • Contributing to the general running and maintenance of the studio complex as needed.
  • Supporting contractors when they are on site completing work.

  • Communicating clearly and effectively across the Facilities and wider Garden team
  • Hard-working attitude and motivation to do the best job possible
  • Honestly and ability to admit and take ownership of your mistakes and know when to ask for help
  • Showing respect in all working relationships and contributing to a diverse team
  • Ability to learn and safely operate critical equipment at the studio complex
  • Initiative and ability to prioritise in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to attend on and off-site mandatory training as required
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly growing organisation

Desirable skills:

  • A desire to learn specialist skills in carpentry, plumbing or electrics, or previous qualification/experience
  • Experience working in film or tv/hospitality/construction/event management
  • A clean UK driver's license
  • Able and willing to learn about the core business of the film studio
