Hours: 9am-6pm (40 hours/week)
Salary: Up to £31,500 depending on experience

Role Overview

As part of the Facilities Team, you will help to manage health and safety measures across the campus, ensuring all site activities are compliant with health and safety legislation. Flexible working (within reason) is required for some production schedules, so the post may involve some “out of hours” working. This job is a full-time on-site position.

This role is client-facing and you’ll be playing a critical role in ensuring clients have the best possible experience at Garden Studios. There will be opportunities to learn and develop additional trade skills and you are able and willing to learn about the core business of the film studio.

Honesty and the ability to admit and take ownership of your mistakes and know when to ask for help is important. You are an individual that can contribute to a diverse team and show respect in all working relationship sand can use your initiative and can prioritise in a complex, fast-paced environment.

A clean UK driver’s license would be advantageous.

Building Maintenance Experienced Required:

·    You have a minimum of 2 years’ experience working in construction, housing/commercial maintenance, film, tv, hospitality, or event management.

·    General building works. Minor repairs to windows, radiators, lights, taps, walls, floors as directed.

·   Maintain gutters, downpipes and drains.

·   Minor roof repairs.

    ·   Monitor and adjust heating installations.

    ·  Joinery- first line maintenance of fixtures and fittings, examples: tightening screws    on window hinges, maintenance on door handles, minor repairs as a temporary measure after break-ins, vandalism etc.

·    Basic plumbing tasks to include un-blocking sinks, traps and waste pipes. Adjustment to washers and taps.

·    Internal glazing – remedial action after break-ins, for example boarding up of broken windows.

·    You have experience working on projects that have a sustainable element and can demonstrate knowledge of reusing/repurposing materials.

Your Responsibilities

··      You will ensure the studio premises and surrounding areas are always well functioning, safe, tidy and welcoming.

·      You will conduct general maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, replacing plugs, sockets and light switches.  

·      You will conduct plumbing repairs, painting, routine health and safety checks to ensure that fire alarms, fire extinguishers and other safety equipment works.

·      You will prepare and support studio spaces on the complex for clients and productions fixing/organising/moving furniture, equipment and waste as necessary.

·      You will work as an individual and as part of the team to help solve problems for clients which can be wide ranging and at times immediate.

·      You will be helpful and thoughtful, assisting clients and colleagues when you can see they may need help. This includes you being able to recognise how you can help with something without being asked.

·      You will report any defects to the Maintenance Supervisor and log on helpdesk.

·      You will keep others informed of information that contributes to the performance of the team, department, or company.

·      You will contribute to the general running and maintenance of the studio complex as needed.

·      You will support contractors when on site completing work.

Essential Skills

·    You can demonstrate the ability to learn use of and safely operate critical equipment within the complex.

·    You are qualified/experienced in specialist skills such as carpentry, plumbing or electrics.

·    You can show an ability to work things out independently and have good problem-solving skills.

·    You can communicate clearly and effectively.

·    You can show willingness to attend on and off-site mandatory training as required.
